There is not really a specific formula or things you have to do to get your lawn green, you simply have to mow it, fertilize it, water it, and ensure there are no pests critters walking around. First and foremost the main thing would be to ensure that there are no weeds in the lawn, you accomplish this by setting down pre- emergents in the late fall as well as early spring, the reason for late fall application is so that the current lawn won’t get any more weeds through out the winter and as well as even kill some off before the lawn goes dormant. Then an application in spring will ensure that the lawn does not contract any weeds throughout the hot summer months, occasionally you will have to spot spray some areas where you see weeds growing. After you have made sure there are not weeds growing then you will have to make sure there is nothing eating the grass, or causing it to die such as a fungus, lack of water, or even nutrition . After you have identified any of this situations, something that a lot of homeowners or other landscapers don’t know is that the IRRIGATION needs to be wetting EVERYTHING in your lawn and not missing ANY spots.
This one thing that has brought me the most successes in enhancing lawns. In fact I adjusted the irrigation to ensure the whole ground was getting covered and that doubled the lawns thickness .
