Grass and Sod

Benefits of Father Nature's Sodding

Sodding

Having a fresh, green lawn is the base foundation to a beautiful property. It’s one of the most noticeable aspects of any yard. Keeping grass lush & healthy can take a lot of maintenance, especially in South Carolina. Grass can easily dry out & start to become very thin. Once this occurs, your lawn is more susceptible to turning brown & having dead patchy areas that will continue to arise. Sodding is the best solution to this problem.

Whether you’re looking to overcome a struggling lawn or obtain the freshest grass, it’s time to call Father Nature to help bring your lawn back to life. Father Nature is the expert in residential & commercial sod installation & sod replacement. We make sure to use the highest quality grass while giving you the most affordable prices in Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, & Beaufort.

Types of Sod Grass

Father Nature is dedicated to providing the most premium grass to our customers. We use a locally owned sod farm & offer a variety of grass options to fit your needs. Each of the sod grass options listed below work best for the hot & humid weather conditions Beaufort County experiences.

  1. Bermuda Grass – dark green, dense, fine to medium textured grass blade, and low growing. Bermuda grass is drought resistant & can grow on almost all soil types. Makes for a very good turf when fertilized correctly. Requires full sun. Recommended for both commercial & residential properties. Commonly used for golf courses, sports fields, & parks. Strongly recommended for households with children & pets.
  2. Centipede Grass – medium to dark green, dense, medium to coarse texture, and low/slow growing. Requires less sun than bermuda grass. Centipede grass is partially drought resistant; however, becomes greener when watered every so often. Popular due to low maintenance requirements. Recommended for residential landscapes.
  3. St. Augustine Grass (Charleston Grass) – light to medium green, fairly dense, coarse texture, and fast growing. Tolerates more shade than bermuda & centipede grass. St. Augustine grass prefers weekly watering for the most optimal results. Very popular among southern states near the ocean. Recommended for residential, commercial, & industrial properties.
  4. Zoysia Grass – light to medium green, dense, fine to medium textured, and slow growing. Tolerant of shade & drought, but should be watered every so often. Zoysia grass can handle heavy foot traffic. Recommended for residential & commercial properties.
  5. Artificial Turf – synthetic green turf that looks like natural grass. Very minimal maintenance; does not require watering or mowing. Artificial turf is recommended for residential & commercial properties. Commonly used for sports stadiums, golf courses, and households seeking little to no maintenance on their lawn.
